Nelson Salis is a Brooklyn-based director and former agency creative, known for visually driven work that leans into emotion, atmosphere, and quiet intensity. His background in art direction and design still informs his eye, but his focus now is squarely on storytelling. He directs spots, short films, and concept-driven pieces that resonate on a human level.

Nelson has created award-winning work for brands like Mercedes-Benz, Sprite, Perdue Farms, and The New York Post. Along the way, he’s built a parallel body of design work including logos, posters, and album covers for clients who value strong visual language and attention to detail.

When he’s not on set or deep in pre-pro, you’ll find him learning jazz drums, watching films with the sound off, or reading obscure nonfiction way past his bedtime.

Nelson continues to develop original scripts and visual treatments that lean into his conceptual instincts, bold visuals, and a more distinctive directorial voice. Though not yet produced, these pieces explore everything from culturally resonant PSAs to dark, dreamlike narratives, and reflect the kind of work he’s most eager to create.
